Think Again when you drink Cold water ?

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down
the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is
best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

The reason I am writing this is because the facts noted in the article above are incorrect. This is only one of the misadventures of modern science, an "Invention" out of a fantasised idea.

My answer to this question was;

To understand the above analogy, we need to understand the process of digestion. To start with, it is important to understand that it is not the quality or quantity of food that is important, it is the quality of the eating process that would make up for our health.

By properly chewing the food, the food is broken down to a good extent, thereby preparing the quality of chime in the stomach. When food is properly digested in the stomach with the help of the digestive enzymes (which will form the reference point to the above article), they are then sent to the Small intestine. The small intestine absorbs 80% of the nutritive value in the food & sends it into circulation. The rest is sent to the large intestine. The large intestine absorbs or reclaims the water required for the body, solidifies the waste & throws it out.

Now lets come back to the process of digestion. The enzymes consist of Hydrochloric acid + the Bile secreted from the liver, through the Gall Bladder. The property of the enzyme is "Heat", referred to " Jathara Agni" in Ayurveda. When we drink water, the Jathara Agni is dulled & breaking down process of food is stopped. The food, instead of breaking down & getting absorbed by the small intestine, starts to rot & form a layer around the layers of the intestinal wall. This leads to formation of gas as an immediate result. Cholesterol, blood pressure etc., etc,. ,are following symptoms. By the way, they are easily curable. It can also be followed by various other related disease processes.

Therefore, it is immaterial whether you drink "Hot, Warm, or Cold Water". Drinking water is in itself not advisable. It is safe to drink water 1/2 an hour before & after food, never with food, in between food or soon after food.

For your information, Ayurveda looks at constitutions as the first reference point to ascertain the dis-ease process. Ailments in the body manifest themselves based on the following factors;

1. Lifestyle patterns
2. Food patterns & foods agreeable to the individuals constitution
3. Wrong food combinations
4. Timing of consuming food

In all the following cases, on the basis of constitutions, different ailments manifest in the body.

Heart attack, or for that matter any other ailment, cannot be prevented by just drinking warm water or exercising or not taking non fatty foods & so on & so forth.... These are all myths of "AN ALTERNATIVE SYSTEM OF MEDICAL PRACTICE PREVALENT TODAY CALLED ALLOPATHY"

In the science of Ayurveda, no symptom is recognised to be a starting point for treatment unless & until the cause is identified. Therefore comes the powerful diagnostic process of Nadi Pariksha, where the constitution of the person & the cause, in relation to the constitution are analysed. The system is so genuine & true that you do not have to specify your problems in advance to the Nadi Vidwan. The symptoms & their cause are revealed in your body through the Nadi Pariksha.

Now to understand Jathara Agni, I'll give you something interesting to read below. This will enable you to understand your digestive system well...
